Leonard Isaacs worked with Bill Sands back in the early years of Elite women’s Gymnastics.
And he’s still coaching today.
One of the sport’s most celebrated innovators, Leonard pioneered the concept of teaching gymnastics with progressions rather than spotting.
This idea, revolutionary for its time, was enormously influential on Doug Davis, Tumbl Trak founder and one of Leonard’s mentees.
Through their close relationship, Leonard helped develop some of Tumbl Trak’s most important products, including the Laser Balance Beam and Pit Pillow!

I believe you have that backwards in all honesty. I would say Bill came to work with Leonard at Leonard’s gym. They complimented each other at Americas Academy of Gymnastics. The gymnasts benefited a great deal from both Leonard and Bill’s excellent knowledge and coaching ability. That’s why American Academy of Gymnastics was so successful. I personally wish they stayed together as a coaching team. Thank you Leonard for your great dedication, genuine care for your gymnasts and the skills you taught to your gymnasts for lifelong learning and success.
