For Artistic, I prefer introducing the skill as a late TILT twist.
It’s easy (later as needed) to initiate the twist as early as seen in this progression series.

I- like just about every coach I know- have always taught late twisting; but Matthew Sparks got me to thinking of the Arabian style full as the more “correct” way to go. If you go to the Facebook Drills and Skills page and type into the search engine twisting and Matthew Sparks, it should turn up his discussion/debate and thoughts on the issue.

Sectioning each part of the twist will eventually lead to better understanding of the skill and to maximize the potential level of a gymnast/acrobat/artist
This is the perfect way to avoid the “twisties”
