teach glide kip piked or straddled?

Good question.

The general rule followed by many coaches is to do all skills with legs together to start:

  • Kip
  • Cast
  • Giants

LATER — and carefully — introduce straddle technique if and when needed. Canadian Olympian Maddie Copiak (170cm) never straddled. It’s possible.

related – teach long kip before glide kip as it’s less complicated for the beginner.
