Jair was already competing the double front half. We’re still waiting on double front full out. (Manrique?)

Jair was the 3rd African American Olympian after Ron Galimore (1980 boycott) and Charles Lakes (1988).

I knew Kanati slightly….kind of an unusual guy….I’m aware of his “claim” that he was Cherokee and his public denial of African-American ancestry……it (that denial)
wasn’t considered particularly credible (by most people) during his active time in gymnastics…..if you accept his claim at face value, ok, then don’t count him
