I’ve never used one of these. But with good matting on top, it should work like a stack of mats.

    I made that Air Pit, it is a bespoke item that is especially designed for gymnasts and not simply a fall safety system, this means that you can land correctly, and also coaches can stand on the surface to spot gymnasts, who, if the get it wrong can “crash” land into the mat with far less risk than with conventional matting.
