Utah gymnasts – free Jeep Grand Cherokee lease

Those who worried NIL was a slippery slope, were right.

  • Every student-athlete from those three sports — women’s gymnastics, and men’s and women’s basketball — will have the opportunity of receiving a free lease on either a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited Edition or a 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn Night Edition truck.
  • That is different than the football NIL opportunity announced in October in a couple different ways — only scholarship football players were offered the opportunity, while this deal applies to all athletes on the gymnastic and men’s and women’s basketball teams. Also, football players only had the Dodge Truck as an option.
  • Lease and insurance costs will be covered by donations to the Crimson Collective for each student-athlete.

Also, … how do I transfer to Utah. 😀

Cal’s Liz Crandall-Howell interview

Like everyone, I’m a huge fan of Cal Berkeley since award winning Liz and Justin Howell took over.

John Carney was named the WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year 2023, as well.

Certainly Cal is a contender for the Final 4 – 2024.

Listen to an excellent interview with Liz on the All Things Gymnastics Podcast.

Their gymnasts train more difficulty than they compete, in order to build confidence in their so-called easier routines.

NCAA proposes paying athletes

Recall those who worried that NIL was the start of a slippery slope?

They were right. 😀

BEST in my opinion would be for College Football to be affiliated with the NFL. Not any educational institution.

The proposal — outlined in a letter to Division I colleges today — would allow schools to enter into name, image and likeness (NIL) deals directly with their students.

The NCAA lifted its ban on athletes profiting off NIL deals in 2021, allowing them to earn money from outside parties — but not with colleges. …
