Nothing is carved in stone, as yet.

But if you want to see the direction FIG MTC is heading, click over to ngja.org.

Read a quick summary of some of the major changes.

Thanks Nate.

  1. Floor:
Double front with or without 1/2 out same value — this is dumb. I know it’s not a new concept, but it’s dumb.
No connection for single-salto elements…. jury’s still out on what I think of this, but I’m willing to see how it plays out.

    Rings:
Azarian to Maltese is only an E? And to planche (significantly harder) is only a D? What on earth is the technical committee smoking?
I like the upgrade of the swing to inverted cross, though

Vault groupings seem kind of odd, but I guess it doesn’t really affect much in terms of value or scoring

    P-bars:
Removal of reverse pirouette seems odd; wonder what the reasoning is?
Makes sense that double front 1/2 has been devalued; everybody was doing it
Makes sense to remove circle and flair elements — nobody did them anyway

    High bar:
I like the change that tkatchev and tkatchev 1/2 are now the same element.
I like the upgrade of legs-together stalders and the downgrade of yamawaki
