Charlie and his wife Nicole are expecting their first babies … TWINS. Congratulations.

Last week I led a coaching course session on “biomechanics“.

As always, in addition to the Canadian curriculum, I added the 4 principles as invented by Dr. G.S. George in his 1980 text Biomechanics of Women’s Gymnastics:

1. Amplitude
2. Segmentation
3. Closure
4. Peaking

He nailed it. Those concepts were not understand by almost any coach of that era. Until we got the book.

When Dr. George updated after decades, those principles stayed. To me they are like laws of physics.

He’s posted a lecture on his YouTube channel – GymnasticsTechniques:

• Peaking (VIDEO)

Misha and Team New Zealand had a long haul this Fall, competing back-to-back Commonwealth Games and Worlds.

But it didn’t take long before Misha was back in the gym training big new aggressive skills.

The Women will compete April 15-17, 2011 at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Men’s Championships goes same weekend, also in Ohio.

Ohio State University, Columbus will host. It’s less than 3hrs drive between the two cities if you’re insanely contemplating seeing part of both, as I am.

We’re back at it today.

Kids have competitions coming up SOON where I live. Many took only 3 days break for Christmas.
