While his writing can deal with heavy subject matters such as eating disorders, sexual harassment, identity crisis, and the like, his ultimate goal is always to raise awareness or being to light certain aspects of the human spirit regardless of how dark they may be in a manner that inspires others to be the best versions of themselves possible.

World’s 2014 draw

With 80 countries registered, this number remains second highest to the record 84 participating nations from the 2007 Worlds in Stuttgart (GER). There are lots of ways you can do these drills, this is with a small hula hoop, but I really prefer carpet squares or a chalk box on the floor. The more ways you can get gymnasts punching and jumping early, the better off they’ll be. …

connecting kip to cast handstand

JAO is back with another excellent tutorial.

I’m teaching this series all week at Camp so the timing of this release was perfect for me.

Love targeting the straddle cast handstand right from the start. Most girls over age-12 will be competing straddle cast. 🙂 Don’t waste too much time on straight body cast.

Love the “dump” drills. Kids need to know what to do when they lean too far over, otherwise they won’t be confident in leaning over far enough.

At Camp we’ve been doing similar drills from long kip rather than glide kip. I find the “late” kip action is easier if the girls do not need to worry about the glide.

I don’t agree with every drill shown. But there are some good ideas there for every coach.
