This competition is kind of a big deal because many of the athletes are trying to secure a spot on their nation’s Commonwealth Games Team. That competition will also be hosted in Scotland. This was something of a test meet.

The President of the Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria, Folusho Adefemi, has said that lack of funds was responsible for Nigeria’s inability to participate at the last African Gymnastics Championship in South Africa.
Nigeria had qualified for the competition, which was held from March 27 to 30, but had failed to participate in any of the over 20 categories of events at the competition.
Adefemi said, “It was not as if we don’t want to go to South Africa, it is because we have no fund available, that’s why we couldn’t go to that competition.” …
“Sarah & Suzanne” tells the story of the greatest rivalry in college gymnastics – between Bama’s Crimson Tide & Georgia’s Gym Dogs. For over 3 decades led by their respective Coaches Sarah Patterson & Suzanne Yoculan, these two programs have been the best in the nation. Yet, as intense as the competition on the floor was, nothing was more heated than the rivalry between these two extraordinary coaches!
The BEST of many good Beam routines at Westerns was Haley de Jong from Flicka competing in the NOVICE Age Group division. She scored 15.900 from a 17.5 start score (including bonus). Next highest in her division was 15.5 difficulty.
Not quite as HIT as prelims. She competed layout layout series in that routine. But still wonderful. Meaningless as this probably is to you, her Finals score was 14.40 from 16.70 start, with bonus.
