I finally saw Mad Apple, the new Cirque show that opened May 2022 in Vegas.
Quite different than any other of their 20 performances worldwide.
Three bars on the stage open 45 minutes before opening.
Stand-up comedy. Somewhat raunchy.
No theme. Instead it’s a fast paced series of acts all somehow paying homage to the city of New York.
It replaced Zumanity on stage at New York-New York Hotel & Casino. Both minimum age-16 adult-themed entertainments.
As usual, I appreciated the acrobatic performers most. The Wheel of Death included a back tuck — something I’d not seen before.
The Pole Act far above the stage impressed.
Hand Balancer Valentin Chetverkin is fantastic.
The musicians in this show are characters who roam the stage. I found them more entertaining than some of the dancers.
Music so-so. The acoustics in this venue made it difficult to hear some of the lyrics.
