Summing Up Jr Worlds

Recall the concept of adding a Junior World Championships was controversial before the 1st in Gyor, Hungary 4 years ago.

But I’d say the competition is here to stay. It was a success in 2023.

And WHEN FIG raises the minimum age of Sr. WAG to 18 — this meet will be even more important.

I enjoyed seeing success from so many nations around the world with RUS not there and the USA less dominant than in the past.

Exciting young Japanese teams, a duo of South American standouts and a historic finish for Egypt made the 2nd FIG Junior World Championships 29 March-2 April a competition rife with important firsts.
