Certainly Tom is a good coach who has tried to change the culture of the American elite program for the better. Certainly communication has been poor on HOW he’s doing that. I blame the entire communications department at USAG.
In any case, Tom is uncertain about staying in the position for the next cycle. Sounds like he’d rather be fly fishing.
All sport leaders accept criticism as part of the job. They get too much praise when things go right — too much blame when things go wrong.
