  1. Although her legs had some form and her positions appeared to be a little off on her leaps and jumps, there is a lot to be said for the innovative combinations and choreography. That back roll after her back dive wasn’t necessary but the risk for the sake of choreography and style is laudable, especially coming from the Chinese. This departure from the Sui Lu and Deng Linlin style of skill, stand, skill, stand, walk backwards, skill, stand beam choreography and rhythm is very welcome! What attitude from this gymnast – that saché, saché down the beam – absolutely more of that! It wasn’t forced choreography to me either – she seemed to really feel it. China on beam is going to be an absolute treat at the Olympics!
