The junior competition was dominated by two gymnasts, Rose-Kaying Woo and Shallon Olsen, who won all five gold medals awarded in this competition.

Rose-Kaying Woo managed to take the all around title mostly due to her consistency. Her ‘easiest’ event was vault where she only had a starting value of 5.0 but managed to execute cleanly. Her biggest scoring event was beam, with 15.20 (6.7). Beware when looking through these scores though as a bonus system was used and the D scores are not in syncwith the FIG Junior Code of Points. Woo also won the event titles on bars and beam respectively. …

I’ve heard Rose-Kaying sometimes trains strap bar and regular bar on alternate turns, rolling down her grips each time to use straps.

Unlike the junior competition which was dominated by two gymnasts, in the senior’s meet each title went to a different gymnast:

Victoria Moors managed to take the all around. In the event finals she only competed on bars and beam placing 4th and 7th respectively. Overall, Victoria’s meet was riddled with mistakes, minor and major, but given that her main goal here was to test her new skills in a competition environment, she will be pleased with what she achieved. …
