Friday the competitions begin.

Good luck to everyone in Hamilton, Ontario!

Over 650 of Canada’s best gymnasts will converge on McMaster University as they compete at the 2009 Canadian Gymnastics Championships from May 29th to June 6th, 2009. Competitors will be representing four disciplines, including, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Trampoline & Tumbling, and Men’s and Women’s Artistic, all vying for a coveted National title.

I’ll not be attending this year, so must cheer from afar. Elfi Schlegel is in charge of media and I am expecting good coverage. After a busy gymnastics season I’m off to do some hiking, biking and trail running in Death Valley.

I haven’t heard much yet about the meet in Moscow this weekend.

An NCCP Trampoline Level 3 coaching course is scheduled in August at Shasta Trampoline in New Westminster, B.C.

All registrations must be done online.

For wrist rips that do not heal, the best strategy is to put vasoline under a neoprene wrist band to reduce friction. On top can be grips alone. Or a cloth wrist band with grips.

It’s not foolproof. But wrist bleeding is reduced for most gymnasts.
