What’s the toughest skill there?

I’d love to vote for Uchimura’s double twisting Kovacs attempt. But of the successful skills shown, maybe it’s Ri Se Gwang’s Tsuk double with 1/1 twist.

Leave a comment if you have an opinion.

Thanks @SyqueCaesar … and good luck with that Olympics thing. 🙂

Shannon Miller – DTY 1993

Blythe:

… I posted a few things 1996 double Olympic gold medalist Shannon Miller said during a live webchat with The Seattle Times. Someone asked Miller directly whether she had ever vaulted a double-twisting Yurchenko, which was something of a rarity in her era. …

straight body pull to hang

Adam Paterson:

… Here is another exercise from our Straight arm circuit – currently used by our Junior National team.

A fairly simple exercise to use which links nicely to straight arm Ring work – Azarian etc …

… a very useful exercise to develop the muscle groups needed for “senior” rings work, very early on in the gymnasts career!

GymInfo – Women’s Gymnastics National Rankings as of 13 February 2012 – by Total Season Average

Any one of the top teams could win this year. You might call Florida, UCLA and Alabama favourites, IF they hit. They have the top 3 high scores, so far.

… The No. 1 Utah gymnasts overcame an uncharacteristically bad day on the floor exercise to beat No. 25 Arizona State 196.150-194.000 and improve to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the Pac-12.

“We’re back to planet earth,” said coach Greg Marsden, “Although floor was the only event where we did poorly. We’re still learning. We need to do a better job of adjusting to the equipment on the road.” …

Colbi – Beam 10.0

This Texas Dreamer got a perfect score on Beam today. I want to see that routine.

Her Bars were not quite as good. Only 9.875. 🙂

is Doug Boger coaching?

Or is he only ‘planning’ to start coaching Trampoline again?

More bad press for the sport:

Gymnasts Accuse Colorado Coach Of Sex Abuse, Torture

CBS Denver – February 9, 2012

In that article, some of his former athletes get much more specific in their allegations:

Anne Malver (now age-51)
Denise Gallion (now age-50)
Charmaine Carnes

A fourth did not reveal her name, but claims Boger got her pregnant at age-15, leading to an abortion.

Taime Evans-Vincelli, is (painfully) specific in what happened to her in comments #34 and #35 on this post – in defence of Doug Boger

Reacting to former Boger athletes who defend him, Taime points out:

Just because a serial killer didn’t kill you, doesn’t mean he hasn’t killed.

In fact, Taime Evans-Vincelli was the sister of one of Boger’s athletes. (Her athlete sister was never approached.)

As I’ve previously reported on this site, many of Doug’s former athletes & parents have come to his defense. Many believe he’s innocent even in the face of damning statements from ladies who have not much to gain by coming forward.

As you know, Doug Boger was put on the USA Gymnastics “permanently ineligible list” list June 2010. He’s not allowed to coach at any USAG member gym.

But that doesn’t stop him from coaching at non-affiliated gyms.

Is Doug Boger coaching now?
