Not much information online promoting the Canadian National Team Selection meet. But I’m NOT saying GymCan is poor at communication … πŸ™‚

That’s Kelsey Kato at Avant Couer in Idaho.

Of course the “spotters” will drop the rope if any of the kids get tangled. A pool noodle works even better. πŸ™‚

how to carry a big woman

Is it Valentine’s Day? … Or April Fools?

Over on the (normally excellent) Gymnastic Bodies strength forum there’s a bizarre thread:

Need urgent help…
by Zingam

See, most guys seem to like smaller women but I like them tall like 6 feet at least. There is one big problem though – they tend to weight quite a lot – 154 pounds wouldn’t be unexpected.

So what would you recommend to do to gain the strength to get one up and carry her around without breaking myself. … I actually can do it but I’m not convinced that I am strong enough and that I won’t get injured some day. So I need to train.

“better late than pregnant”

One highlight from Stoi’s ‘Best of 2011’ post.

Best BEAM

Clara:

I didn’t see much beam I particularly liked last year. Dearly departed Porgras declined – still moved beautifully, but everything interesting was slowly sucked out of the routine. …

So I’m going leftfield – Danusia Francis at British Nationals. Lovely carriage and posture, and she got to show it off at Worlds this year. News flash GB coaches – you get about one athlete a decade who can actually do this event. Don’t waste her. …

Click PLAY or watch her on YouTube.

No confidence in that dismount. But Danusia looks like a future NCAA Beam Champion to me. πŸ™‚
