Two-time Olympian Jason Burnett of Toronto soared to his seventh national trampoline title and Ellie Black of Halifax led the way in the women’s gymnastics on Saturday with three medals to cap a brilliant performance at the 2013 Canadian Gymnastics Championships. …
In women’s trampoline Samantha Sendel of Toronto won her first senior title with a score of 145.385 …
On the final day of artistic gymnastics (Ellie) Black won bronze on vault, silver on floor and gold on beam to go with the all around title she won on Thursday in the women’s senior finals.
Other senior gold medallists were Maegan Chant of Waterdown, Ont., (vault), Gabriella Douglas (floor) and Kaitlyn Hofland (… bars) …
In the women’s junior competition, Shallon Olsen of Vancouver won both the vault and floor finals to complement her earlier victory in the all around.
In men’s senior gymnastics, Robert Watson of Richmond, B.C. led the way with three medals, including gold on floor while Scott Morgan of Vancouver showed consistency with silver on vault, rings and floor.

Other gold medal winners were veterans Brandon O’Neill of Edmonton (vault) Kevin Lytwyn (rings), Anderson Loran (pommel horse), Jayd Lukenchuk, (parallel bars), and Rene Cournoyer of Repentigny, Que., on high bar. …
The top juniors were Justin Karstadt of Toronto and Aaron Mah of Vancouver who both earned two gold medals.
In other events Denis Vachon of Burlington, Ont., and Lexi Giesbrecht of Calgary won gold in men’s and women’s double-mini trampoline and Jon Schwaiger and Emily Smith, both of Burlington, Ont., captured the men’s and women’s tumbling titles.
Giesbrecht also won gold in women’s junior trampoline and Keevin Madigan of Toronto topped the field on the men’s side.

Beth Tweddle’s Bar set is the one no other gymnast could duplicate.
Nastia’s Bars had the most variety of skills.
But the gymnast most ahead of her time was Khorkina.

Manjak’s Gymnastics is opening its brand new 20,000 sq ft. facility to the public for a day in support of Right to Play.
I’m driving to the big event with Power couple Jon Schwaiger and Emily Smith.
Jon and Emily are Power Tumbling Canadian Champions 2013.
They’ll be competing World Games 2013 Cali, Colombia, July 25 to August 4.
There really wasn’t enough seating for WAG / MAG Senior & Junior finals today.

Update: SW tells that Nationals 2000 was on podium.
Jason Burnett is again Canadian Trampoline champion.
He rocked a 17.6 degree of difficulty in the final today.

OTTAWA — Hometown favourite Sam Zakutney’s Olympic dreams got a big boost on Friday at the Canadian Gymnastics Championships.
After charging into the lead on Wednesday in the Tyro class Zakutney kept up the pace on the second day to win the all around gold with a total score of 161.250 points. …
In the men’s junior competition Steven Chaplin of Mission, B.C., took the all around gold with a combined score of 152.250 over two days of competition. …
In other events on Friday, Meixi Semple of Oshawa, Ont., won the all around women’s national novice title and Jade Chrobok of Toronto took the all round gold in the high performance novice event.
In the trampoline preliminaries Lexi Geisbrecht of Calgary and Keevin Madigan of Toronto qualified first in the women’s and men’s junior competition.
The championships conclude on Saturday with finals in artistic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard the heart referenced vis-a-vis Centre of Gravity before. It’s closer to the belly button than heart.
