Head Coach Scott Barclay has a ton of guys training at Arizona State University.
They won the 2013 USAG College Nationals (7th title in series) and then had a B Team finish 2nd at the NAIGC Nationals.
Next he’s taking 16 competitors June 19 – July 2 to compete at South African Championships. And to do some work with underprivileged city kids.
Men’s Gymnastics is alive and well at ASU.

GymMomentum – 5 Minute Drills for Bars. July
I’m looking forward to guest coaching at Tony’s Gym Momentum Camp June 21-23, 2013. And to the free Tumbl Trak clinic on the Friday.

I like the matting. Helps kids be aggressive while learning the element.
… France/Romania Junior friendly …
The meet was actually two meets rolled into one: There was the France/Romania Junior, which happened over two days, but there was also a “Test Match” between France’s top Espoir gymnasts, held concurrently with the France/Romania event finals.
The goal was to get the Espoirs, all born in 2000 or 2001, performing in front of a full arena, as they will be at next year’s Junior Europeans. And yes, they had some nervous moments, but on the whole these 12- and 13-year-olds demonstrated an exceptionally high level of difficulty, which bodes well for the French team in the future. …

I love Gaylord 1 in Men’s Gymnastics. It’s dangerous, though. Miss long, you might over-rotate to a tragic landing.
Adding the half twist for Pegan is far more difficult — but safer.
Gaylord 1 on Bars (Mo salto) does not have much future in WAG, I fear. Will we ever see one with much amplitude?
What can you do out of it?
… Jaeger?
UPDATE from melanie:
It would be a shame if we never saw the Mo again in WAG.
I think, if it were possible to do it with enough amplitude facing away from the low bar, a gymnast might go straight into a Yezhova (which is another skill we don’t see enough of).
UPDATE from ber:
At least for this quad, it won’t have to be connected. They removed the empty swing deduction after the Mo salto, and the counter-kim elements.
That was posted by Wats Good Gabby.
WOGymnastike linked to it. And has the Mo Salto shown in competition. (VIDEO)

… Van Pol edged 2012 Olympian Céline van Gerner and Olympic alternate Wyomi Masela to win her first Dutch title.
Van Gerner had the title in her grasp, needing only 12.600 on floor exercise to top van Pol. But Van Gerner fell on her third pass, scoring 12.525 and settling for second.
Van Pol, 19, said she was surprised at her victory.
“I’m a late bloomer but still going,” she said. …
Competition concludes with Sunday’s event finals at the Ahoy Arena, site of the 1987 and 2010 world gymnastics championships.
