I saw that linked from Korbut Flip.

Simone Biles is awesome

And she’ll be back for Championships.

Amanda Turner:

Recovering after an unexpected performance at Saturday’s U.S. Secret Classic, rising star Simone Biles told IG on Wednesday she is focused on a top-three finish at the upcoming U.S. championships in Hartford.

The first-year senior struggled at the U.S. Classic, with missed routines on uneven bars (fall on Tkatchev), balance beam (missed mount) and floor exercise (fall on full-in). After a shaky warm-up on vault, she decided not to compete her final event.

“We just decided it would be best if I didn’t do vault, just because I wasn’t having a good meet and also because on floor I hurt my ankle just a little bit,” she explained. …

Biles Back to Work Before US Championships

I’ve got a feeling she’s going to look fantastic in Hartford. And, if so, she’ll be considered the favourite for the AA going into Worlds.

I hope they do change that weak third tumbling pass.

Peyton Ernst is awesome, as well. And also aspires to finish top 3 AA at Championships:

… Looking ahead to other international competitions, Ernst said she thinks she can best help the U.S. team on uneven bars and balance beam. …

Many will name Komova the favourite for Worlds AA 2013, but I worry about Vika’s consistency. And her health. (PHOTO)

Aliya will have lower start scores, but is much more likely to HIT.

A tribute to the Chinese WAG who will retire after the 2013 National Games (or, in the case of Cheng Fei and YYL, who haven’t been active in a while).

You might wonder why gymnasts kept training through to these National Games.

As I understand it, funding is based on results there. The gymnasts were asked to stay on long enough to help their home teams.

Fangfang is unbeatable

Fangfang Jia easily won Tumbling at the 2013 World Games. There are only a few competitors on Earth that can challenge her.

Brilliant slideshow.

I saw a few competitors comment online that this competition is better than World Championships.

I’m feeling rotten for the German and American athletes forced to withdraw. 😦

I have to admit I’m getting tempted to pay for a year. Many subscribers have been enjoying the premium service.

The main reason I haven’t is my disappointment in the way they rolled out the paid service.

I believe it’s $147 for the year. Or 19.99/month and cancel at any time.
