He’s looking healthy and focused. Might even qualify for as many apparatus finals as any time in the past.

Kevin was Canada’s Olympic alternate for London.

He’s a big talent with world class routines on several apparatus. Kevin will one of mainstays on the rebuilding Team for Rio. Especially since Rings is one of Canada’s two weak apparatus.

We’ve not seen much of the new generation of Chinese men. I’m impressed so far. Zhou Shixiong, for one, is a fantastic gymnast.

Sadly, he does the boring Chinese style H Bar. Jaegers. Rybalkos. Everything that could and should be devalued.

However … prelims have been going LOUSY for the Russian men. There’s going to be Hell to pay back in Moscow. 😦

It’s the responsibility of FIG WTC to enforce their own rules. So far with this gymnast, this skill, they’ve been encouraging this quality of performance.

Yamilet Peña is a fantastic athlete. I don’t blame her or her coach. Only the “rules”.

One of my favourite clubs in the world is Renmore. They are passionate. And organized.

Renmore trained in a set-up, take-down facility until moving to a dedicated gym in 2010. Despite a severe economic recession in most of Ireland, the club in Galway is booming.

Growth and performance have far exceeded their Strategic Sports Development Plan. By 2013 they had 750 gymnasts, a 25% increase over the previous year. And up from 150 gymnasts in 2010.

They’ve attracted coaches from United States, England, Latvia, Australia, Germany and Ireland.

Renmore is looking for a WAG elite development coach to work with their youngest talented kids. High performance is the goal.

Energy. Enthusiasm. Positive coaching style, all assets. 🙂
