Mao Yi – Floor

I’d previously posted a terribly slow loading Youku video of this routine. Here’s the YouTube version.

7/2 Twists + Front tuck (F) 0.2CV
5/2 Twists + 3/2 Twist (D+C) 0.2CV
Split leap 1/1 (C)
3/1 Twists (E)
3/1 Turn (C)
Switch leap + Switch 1/2 (C)
Double Tuck (D)

3.1 + 0.4CV = 3.5 + 2.5CR = 6.0 D-Score

Central Michigan University Gymnastics Camp

I dropped in for the first 2 days of the CMU camp on invitation from Head Coach Jerry Reighard.

They have a superb campus facility with 7 beam stations, 6 bar stations, 3 vault stations and a floor exercise practice area with four pit areas. The facility also includes a Resi-Pit (loose foam pit) and a competition setup for each apparatus, an in-ground trampoline area with a Russian “tramp catcher” and a 60ft Tumbl Trak.

CMU Camp

Great food. First class medical staff.

Over 115 girls signed up. It looks like Camp may expand to two weeks in 2016.

Though they had girls of all levels the Level 9-10 gymnasts impressed me most. It’s an excellent idea for girls looking for a possible future scholarship to register for College Camps like this. Coaches know you are serious when you make the trip in person to show what you can do.

Torres Marcela – Moors dismount

The Swedish gymnast (from Argentina) learned this dismount easily. And it looks like she could add another half or full twist.
