Rather than celebrate the historic first CWG gymnastics medals of Ashish Kumar (Bronze on Floor, Silver on Vault) the GFI president JS Kandhari asked India’s chief coach Vladimir Chertkov sarcastically if ‘that was all he could deliver… ‘

Chertkov does not suffer fools gladly.
He was quoted as saying:
… GFI just does not have any knowledge of the sport. It is an useless organisation …
Worse,
… “India was suppose to go for the World Championship in Rotterdam but now the federation is not even sending the team.
The Federation is prepared to pay the penalty, which is more expensive than sending a team. …
The penalty a few years ago was $10,000. I’m not sure what it is today.
Chertkov’s contract is going to expire on November 30. Something tells me he’ll be returning to the USA.
