WAG Jr rules at YOGs

Clarifying some of the confusing difficulty scores from Singapore …

From A J at the superb THE ALL AROUND blog and Facebook page:

For women:

– F and G skills are credited as Es;
– C dismounts get full credit, B dismounts get .30; A dismounts are .0 (same in MAG)
– in vault Finals, 2 different vaults from the same family allowed
– No more than 2.5 in CR

Although Fs and Gs are capped at .50 difficulty value, there are no caps on the vault values.

gymnasts: show me the money!

THANKS IGC and Bruno Klaus.

Horton, who trains at Cypress Academy, won a total of $17, 500 for his results in the all-around, still rings, floor exercise, and vault.

“I have to say thank you so much to IGC and Bruno Klaus,” said Horton. “This is one of the greatest things anyone has ever done for men’s gymnastics. To donate that kind of money and give it to the athletes who aren’t in school and live on their own like me (I’m married), Danell and Chris. We support ourselves right now so to have somebody donate that and support men’s gymnastics is one of the kindest things.”

Danell Leyva of Miami/Universal Gymnastics, and Chris Brooks of Houston/University of Oklahoma, were the next top earners, collecting $9,500 and $7,500, respectively. …

Finals results – Men and Women

China’s Dong Yu won her country’s first Youth Olympic Games gymnastics gold medal today after putting up a dominant display in the girls’ trampoline event at the Bishan Sports Hall.

Her win will come as a huge relief to her national teammates after they failed to win the gold in the first two YOG gymnastics competitions.

Tan Sixin, China’s national balance beam champion, had finished second in Thursday’s Girls Individual All-Around competition while Zhu Xiaodong took the bronze in the Boys’ Individual All-Around on Wednesday. …

She eventually finished fifth in the eight-girl final. …
