It was a pretty good meet in 2012, the Americans not too badly over-ranked, if at all.

Congratulations to USAG and FIG for finding a way to make our sport marketable, at least in one market.

The No. 1 Florida gymnastics team (10-1, 5-1 SEC) finished its regular-season road schedule with a come-from-behind win at No. 6 Nebraska (10-2, 2-0 Big 10) Sunday afternoon in front of a Bob Devaney Center crowd of 2,472. The Gators took the win with a total of 196.95 and Nebraska posted a final total of 196.825. …

At a Women’s Artistic Gymnastics testing event today I sas impressed how many of the coaches and judges, most former gymnasts, were fit.

They clearly learned one lesson during their many years of competitive training.

Thomas Bouhail surgeries

Really, really bad news.

… 2012 Olympic medal prospect Thomas Bouhail underwent 15 operations in just six weeks and is now fighting to walk again, two months after a horror fall in training, his brother, Mickael, revealed …’

Bouhail, won a silver medal in the vault at the 2008 Olympics and gold medal at the 2010 World Championships, fractured his left leg after falling off the high bar on Christmas Eve.

George Nissen – “Up in the Air”

Up In The Air: Presented by the Nissen Trampoline Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the first (or one of the first) promotional videos for the Nissen Trampoline Company, illustrates the sport’s humble beginnings.

Acrobatic Sports and Institut National du Sport (INSEP) prepared a copy of this wonderful historic video for the World Acrobatic Society when they inducted Mr. Nissen into their “Gallery of Legends” in 2001.
