We’re on the road at 4:30am, headed up to visit our friends in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan for their year-end FUN meet.

A few of the FUN rules for this competition:

• Gymnasts are expected to be LOUD and cheer
• optional suits, shorts allowed
• use any mat on any event at anytime
• after Vault, show a progression into a different vault for a .5 bonus (on stacked mats)
• after Beam, show any additional dance or acro elements (FIG B +) on a Floor Beam for bonus
• after Floor, show an acro (B+) skill into pit (with mats at height) or an additional Dance (C+) element for half of the value of the skill

Balance Beam Situation has been superb this season, reporting on College women’s gymnastics:

4. The good trio. Bart, Kathy, and Suzanne continue to be the best commentary team in US gymnastics.

5. Vault finals: a problem. Something must be done because once again this year, vault finals were a boring disaster.

6. Boo to neutral sites. Championships should be on a relevant campus.

12. Florida is on the right track.

13. New Bruins in 2013.

15 Thoughts

Ruby Harrold (15) qualified 4th on Bars for the Event Finals at Europeans, with a D Score of 6.100 and E Score of 8.433.

Anna’s is a true 1 1/2, however, like the Rybalko to mixed-grip so over-used by the Men.
