return Olympic Gold to Raducan

The IOC has no problem taking away medals awarded many years past.

Why not return the Olympic Gold AA medal 2000 to Andreea Raducan?

Nobody believes she gained any advantage from the cold medicine Pseudoephedrine, administered by the team doctor. AND it was taken off the banned list from 2004-2009.

Most reasonable persons looking at the facts would agree she was deserving of the 2000 Olympic Sydney AA.

On the most recent GymCastic audiocast, Andreea declined to say what would be required for her to be rewarded the Gold, after the fact. But was open to making an appeal in future.

🙂

Her biography is now available in English.

Here’s the link to order the book online. $10-$20 depending on format.

book tour

Taking off the high heels on the book tour.

TCG recently caught up with Andreea Raducan, who is now touring the US promoting her autobiographical book, The Other Side of the Medal. She reveals that she was very involved in the process of writing and shares her views about her career and work, retirement, learning new vaults. Discover them along with other interesting confessions in an interview by Bea Gheorghisor:

TCG: Regarding the English version of the book, how was it written, how did you make sure it will keep the quality of the Romanian version, the autenthicity?

Andreea Raducan: For the English version I worked with Magda Petrescu. She is a huge fan of the Romanian gymnasts and very connected to everything that has to do with Romanian gymnastics. And we have known each other for a long time. Then, our editor was Marisa Finetti, a journalist from the US; the modifications she made were minor, for adaptation purposes.

what is Beam artistry?

Full Twist:

By now we are all aware that the new 2013 – 2016 CoP places a huge emphasis on artistry on both beam and floor….

At the WAG Brevet Intercontinental Course in December, the judges were shown videos of former Soviet gymnast Oksana Omelianchik. The judges were informed that Omelianchik had perfect artistry, her beam routines flowed as if she were performing on floor. …
