I’ve heard more from Andres Llanos Gerardino who’s in Dominican Republic right now leading an FIG Age Group Camp.

As we heard, Yamilet Peña was training Vault on to a Gymnova resi-pit installed for the 2003 Pan-American Games.

Those foam tops “break”.

She landed in a “hole” and injured one ankle.

Needless to say, lack of maintenance of the foam pit is blamed.

Yamilet is listed to compete at the World Cup Paris in March. And still hopes to be ready in time.

Andres fears the injury may force her withdrawal from Paris.

Tony Smith confirms that at the 2013 Kyle Shewfelt Gymnastics Festival presented by Ozone Gymnastics Apparel will feature Junior and Senior men’s dual meets between Canada and the USA. Each country will send 4 seniors and 4 juniors respectively. Team members still tbd. The competition will take place Friday March 15 @ 6pm at the U of Calgary in Jack Simpson Gym. Senior Women and Open Women will compete at the same time – it should be exciting!

The Big Show Finals on Saturday March 16 will feature the top 4 Senior Men, Top 4 Junior Men, Top 4 Senior Women and Top 4 Open Women on each apparatus from Fridays qualification.
