Gymnastike premium video

In addition to the plentiful free video content, Gymnastike announced more content available for pay.

My best guess at cost — monthly subscription to Gymnastike Gold $19.99/mo. A yearly subscription $150/year ($12.50/mo.). Leave a comment if you can confirm those numbers. They’ve hidden the pricing since the beginning. 😦

Chrissy says it’s $147 for the year. Or 19.99/month and cancel at any time.

A difficult element from underarm (group 2) is required for Senior. But that doesn’t mean we need to require it of narrow shouldered growing boys.

Hey. That’s a HIGH catch position on Tippelt. This kid might fly to handstand. 🙂

Gymnastics Camp contests

Handstand, Strength and Flexibility

Cabins choose one camper to represent them in each of the three challenges. First, our campers showed their strength by seeing who could hold an L-seat for the longest amount of time. Then, campers are asked to perform a set of flexibility skills to see who’s got what it takes to be the most flexible camper on campus! Finally, it’s the camper who can hold the longest handstand around!

Our PGC judges, Steve Legendre, Andy Smith and Jake Dalton had their work cut out for them tonight! …

Mai Murakami to Worlds?

The brilliant but inconsistent internet fan favourite has a good chance to qualify for Worlds as a specialist if she’s not selected for the AA.

This routine could easily qualify for the Floor final.

Couch Gymnast – Teramoto, Murakami and Sasada top Japan NHK Trophy

It sounds like Teramato is now guaranteed an AA spot for Worlds 2013.

Thanks Brigid.

related – which Olympic body is Asuka Teramoto?

Asuka was the smallest Olympian 2012 1.36 m (4 ft 6 in) tall and weighing 30 kg (66 lb).

on Deltchev

Stoyan Deltchev from Bulgaria is the 1980 Olympic Champion on Horizontal Bar. Today he runs Deltchev Gymnastics in Reno, Nevada.

Here’s some Deltchev training VIDEO.

Most gymnasts, male and female, start with layout Geinger. Later doing the skill in pike or straddle pike (Deltchev) only if they cannot compete layout.

I can’t recall the last male gymnast I saw compete Deltchev. Leave a comment if you do.

It’s nice to see some variety in WAG release skills. But I’d only try Deltchev if a girl had problems with Geinger. It might work for those who already do a good straddled Jaeger. Girls very comfortable with fast straddled hip flexion.

Connecting like Piskun does is really tough.

Worlds 2013 in Belgium

The first World Championships after the Olympics I call the “unimportant” Worlds.

Balance Beam Situation explains why.

That said, I’m going. 🙂

Worlds 2013 in Antwerp looks to be really entertaining.

There’s no Team competition, so nations can send the individuals with the best chance of qualifying for a Final. By 2014 it will — again — be all about Team.

Uchimura will again be the man to finish second behind. He was happy with his performance this weekend at NHK Cup.

It sounds like Ryohei Kato has also confirmed an AA spot to Worlds 2013 for Japan.
