A much neglected basic skill on bar for girls, this is the easiest way to teach grip shift for swinging skills.
Kids as young as age-7 can do dozens in a row with very little risk of “rips”. (You can lift hands on each sole circle, cooling the hands.)

“Shift and shorten” is the only tricky phase.
Could add some progressions stepping on to the bar from a box with one, then two feet … before casting.
All the same steps can be done on a safety straps bar. But keep it LOW enough for the gymnast to be able to STAND on their feet in case they slip their feet through to skin-the-cat hang.
