Shang Chunsong – Beam

The top routine, so far.

Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.

14.866 = D score : 6.10, E score : 8.766

Her Vault is only a Yurchenko 1/1, hurting her start score for the AA.

Simone Biles – Beam

Simone finished the AA with 60.133 to lead Kyla in the prelim AA rankings.

Like Bars, she looked nervous. Had a long wait before being called to start.

14.400 (D score : 6.10, E score : 8.30). Provisory 3rd behind Kyla Ross (14.566) and Anna Rodionova (14.466).

Compare that E score with other top Beam routines at #WChAntwerp.

Ross v Biles, for example.

Simone could add standing 1/1 in the Final as she’s been training it in Antwerp.

Simone Biles – Bars

A nervous making start first apparatus for Simone at her first BIG meet.

14.800 = D score : 6.00, E score : 8.80.

4th, so far

She competed right after Nabieva.

Sanne Wevers – Beam

Local favourite and internet star Sanne Wevers fell yesterday on her Beam mount. 😦

Would have had a good chance for Finals with her unique routine construction.

dumb idea of the day

Lowest back tuck.

NEVER upload to LiveLeak. It’s slow streaming. And this embed code won’t work. USE YouTube.

Thanks George.

how high does McKayla fly?

Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.

Estimates her entire body 2.75m (over 9ft) above the ground.

FIG wants better, fairer judging
. Why don’t they factor in this kind of objective criteria into the score?

In Trampoline they’ve added “time of flight” as a component of scoring. It works.

Vault would be the best first apparatus to measure height, distance and time of flight. Height of gymnasts could be included.

Berki never falls

Does he?

#WChAntwerp 😦

It will be SELLATHURAI Prashanth or ZHANG Hongtao, I’m thinking.

Or … how about a medal for Mexico’s Daniel CORRAL BARRON?

Max and Alberto are deductible, especially compared immediately against Zhang.

Pommel “looking like doomed“:

Filip Ude (CRO), Donna-Donny Truyens (BEL), Daniel Keatings (GBR), John Orozco (USA) and Kristian Berki (HUN) all fell.

Mykayla Skinner – half-on, Randi-off

@mykayla2016
Into the pit.

I WISH she was at #WChAntwerp. 😦

Does she have dual citizenship with any other nation?

Scott Morgan – tough Achilles

One of the biggest happy surprises at Worlds was this rookie from Vancouver, Canada qualifying to the Floor Final.

Stick some landings, and good things can happen. 🙂

Scott HIT his other two apparatus also. He’s definitely in the mix for Team Canada 2014, despite competing only 3 apparatus. All Canada needs is a high scoring Pommel, P Bar, Horizontal Bar gymnast to compliment Scott.

Ken Ikeda?

Anna RODIONOVA – Beam

Backspring Arabian. Stuck dismount.

I really hope she makes the Final. 🙂

AND connects everything.
