On February 18th at a gym in Waco, TX, Blake jumped into a foam pit. He hit his shoulder on the edge of the pit “whiplashing his head into the surrounding concrete“.

There can never be any exposed concrete anywhere near a safety landing pit.

The All Around: European Recap

The excellent The All Around blog attended Europeans in Bulgaria.

Great Britain and Russia dominated these championships, winning 44 of the 78 available medals between them …

Only six of the twenty-six titles at stake in Sofia were not won by either Great Britain or Russia …

… Ukrainian men also showed that their programme is still competitive – even after losing Nikolai Kuksenkov (who won team gold with the Russians) and Oleg Stepko (now in Azerbaijan). Oleg Vernaiev told Ukrainian media before the competition that he has had offers from Azerbaijan, Russia and a third country he does not wish to name yet. He announced his intention to stay in Ukraine until the 2016 Olympics. …

The huge Armeec Arena was an impressive venue for these championships and the competition was well run. Unfortunately, there were practically no spectators and media coverage seems to be decreasing as well. …
