… Giant trampolines inside a mammoth slate quarry cavern are the latest tourist attraction …
Bounce Below will open next month at Llechwedd in Blaenau Ffestiniog – the world’s first facility of this kind. The caverns, twice the size of St Paul’s Cathedral, will be lit up in a light show while visitors bounce on giant trampolines linked by a 60ft long slide. People will be delivered to the deep attraction by train.
The launch, which bosses hope will be done by British gymnastics star Beth Tweddle, follows the unveiling last week at the quarry of Zip World Titan – the largest zip line course in the world. …

The Women’s Artistic Gymnastics International Development Program (IDP) Clinic was held in Canberra at the Australian Institute of Sport last week following the Australian Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne.
98 of our best young gymnasts and their personal coaches attended the clinic representing 13 different High Performance programs and clubs from around the country.
The clinic was led by National Pathways Manager – Jo Richards. Assisting were experienced coaches:
• Peggy Liddick – National Coach;
• Nikolai Lapchine – Senior coach from the Western Australian Institute of sport;
• David Kenwright – newly appointed Women’s Gymnastics Program Manager at the Victorian Institute of Sport. David comes to us from Canada where he has a fine reputation as an expert high performance gymnastics coach;
• Liz Chetkovich – GA Women’s High Performance Manager, also lent her hand to coaching the developing athletes. Liz had an extensive coaching career during the 1980’s and 90’s at the WAIS gymnastics program; and
• Stacey Umeh – Choreographer.
