Generally, my rule of thumb is when they can do it UP. And not just do the skill up onto something, but do the skill WELL up onto something. β¦
β¦ until they can backhandspring onto a panel mat with straight arms and legs, and minimal shoulder angle, I donβt want it going on the beam. β¦

Nelli is not going to be remembered as one of the great FIG WT Chairs. I certainly hope she does not run unopposed again next cycle.
She was a fantastic athlete, however, better than Nadia in many ways. Nadia’s strongest competitor.
Nelli Kim competed once competed in my home town. I still recall how fantastic she was to watch LIVE. And how surprised I was to see her wearing a drab brown leotard. π

Both those injuries sound similar to what happened to Christine Peng Peng Lee, keeping her out of the 2012 Olympics.
I’m particularly impressed how he STICKS the dismount.
