Netherlands rocks

I believe these ladies had only 1 fall over 20 difficult routines. Respect.

after 5/12 divisions:
RUS, NED, BEL, CAN, MEX, ESP

They want to be Olympians. 🙂

Say no more.

RI Se Gwang – Vault

One of the favourites to medal on Vault in the Men’s competition is injured. Pain forced him to walk off Floor in the middle of the routine. 😦

But by the time he limped to Vault he’d recovered enough to (somehow) land piked Dragalescu. And his eponymous Vault to qualify to the Final.

CHN, USA and ROM yet to come.

Aliya MUSTAFINA – Bars

#FIGWorlds2014ART

As expected, Aliya looked far better in competition than in training. Missed some connections on Beam but still hit for 58.874 AA in prelims.

15.166 (Difficulty : 6.300, Execution : 8.866).

No doubt she’ll upgrade for the final to try to medal.

Canada gives me a heart attack

What’s a bad draw at #FIGWorlds2014ART?

1st/12 Worlds subdivisions – Beam.

Yep. That was Canada.

Then the beautiful Aleeza Wu was injured on double pike dismount. Kelly Manjak told us that Aleeza hyperextended her knee. She had a minor hyperextension last week. 😦

The rest of the team had to step up. And did.

Despite losing Aleeza, they rank 3rd so far and will easily qualify as one of the top 24 teams to Worlds 2015.

1 Russia 228.135
2 Belgium 214.469
3 Canada 214.102
4 Egypt 184.928

1st triple twisting Yurcheko

Hong Un-jong submitted it to FIG as a NEW skill. As she did last year.

But we’ve not seen her warm it up (so far) in Nanning.
