calm, quiet Gymnastics coaches

Seems to me the men’s coaches internationally are getting less and less demonstrative.

The idea is to lower anxiety for the guys. The approach to competition is businesslike.

The extreme notable exception is Yin Alvarez (@CoachYinsanity).

Yin

Happily he wasn’t injured jumping up and down after Danell’s top ranking H Bar routine in prelims.

Simone’s best Beam

Some can recall a better routine than Uchimura girl competed in the Team final. I can’t.

Women’s Worlds Team Final on YouTube

Packed house. A thrilling competition.

You should be able to watch this replay anywhere in the world … aside from the States. Also Canada, I’m hearing.

North Americans will need to use VPN software to watch the FIG feed. Seems NBC asked that it be geo-blocked in the U.S. of A.

Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.

Brinn Bevan pep talk

Most people first heard of Brinn Bevan in Hard Way To Success – Episode 8.

Now 18yrs-old, he’s all grown up. The most improved of all the GBR seniors, in my opinion.

Brinn looked great in podium training. Then suffered a hard fall on H Bar in the prelimary competition. Not his best day.

I’ve got a lot of faith in this guy, however. He’s going to have a long, successful career. A superstar.

Women’s Worlds Team Final begins

Let her rip.

Teams have already qualified to the the Olympics. This night is for bragging rights.

The Downies both fell on Bars in prelims. They’ll both be competing their very difficult routines tonight. No playing safe. 🙂

And Maggie’s competing the AA tonight. 🙂

Aussies grab last MAG Test Event spot

FIG posted the list of nations who earned spots at the Olympic Test Event in Rio next Spring. See it here.

Contingent on invited nations attending, Australia got the last spot thanks to 38yr-old Naoya Tsukahara. Who looked very good.

Ireland earned both a WAG and MAG spot. Congratulations.
