Petrounias celebrated his win by dedicating his gold medal to his father, who passed away a few weeks ago. The Greek athlete overcame his rivals with a 15,800 score. His success in Glasgow means that he secured a place in the upcoming Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games. β¦
Not as good as his #1 qualifying routine, but the judges felt this was enough to put him ahead of the rest of the excellent field. Rings was the most competitive Final day 1, I felt.

Any apparatus medalist from #Glasgow2015 (even in case of a 8 way tie) qualifies personally and directly to Rio, provided their teams do not qualify. They cannot be replaced by another athlete from the same nation.

I do like the final ranking. (The only prediction I’ve got correct, so far.) But all these guys are super human. It’s not easy to rank them.
