It’s typical for people to reach backward with straight arms when they fall backward.

GYMNASTICS can teach kids to bring the arms together in front — landing flat back or, even, better, into a partial backward safety roll.

DO NOT DO THIS! YOU COULD BREAK A WRIST OR DISLOCATE AN ELBOW.
