Jerry is a legend in the Pacific Northwest…..before it’s demise, he coached the boys team at Sammamish for two decades, and like the article says, he’s been doing this for almost half a century…..for many years, he hosted a Christmas clinic at Sammamish, has been the competition director for the WIAA Girls State meet for goodness knows how long…..in all that time, NEVER an unkind or cross word about anyone……
also, he was a college gymnast at Washington State University and was featured in a photo spread in a 1963 International (then Modern) Gymnast magazine….his unique skill, the “Penney”, was an Eagle grip, german rise to support on the Parallel Bars….
his retirement leaves a gap that cannot be fully replaced.
