Junior High Performance was quite an impressive show. There are no weak gymnasts in this category.
For the first time I can recall the highlights were mostly Tumbling / Vault. Typically high potential gymnasts who have not yet finished growing are not all that powerful. This generation is very powerful. Sage Urban‘s Yurchenko 1 1/2 was super. 9.3 E-score.
Ana Padurariu looks fantastic, as usual. Her teammate Jade Chrobok was happy to compete 4 apparatus. She’s only been back to full training for about 9 days following minor injuries.
Haley de Jong is on a roll. She hit 4/4 today. Coach Dorina Stan was happy with the performance. Haley won Gymsport 2016 in Anadia, Portugal in March. It’s been a good season.
Unlike past years, there is no separate AA Final later in the week. All that is left for High Performance Juniors is Apparatus Finals. Seems I was wrong on this. There is a sudden victory AA Final coming up. 🙂
