Kohei was good in the post-meet Press conference.
He said the arena was too loud. As an example, he singled out the practice of the announcer asking the audience to “make some noise”.
I agree. They need to have a little more respect for the athletes while competing.
papaliukin, however, points out that Rio will be very, very loud. Especially since Cuba qualified a full men’s team.
–Congratulations! After your high bar routine, you fanned the audience.
Well, (although my high bar routine wasn’t perfect), I was able to stick the landing and win my 6th straight title, so I thought why not and I got carried away with myself (laughs).
–Your routines were amazing today; how do you feel?
I would’ve liked to do a more aggressive high bar routine, with a cassina, but I had discussed with Coach Moriizumi that it might be okay if I went (cautiously) for the win, and I’m pretty happy I was able to stick the landing.
I’m surprised to hear that Uchimura was willing to change his Horizontal Bar routine. It was good strategy, for sure. But I’m still surprised.
