It’s very rare to see an Artistic gymnast with the greater trochanters perfectly parallel in stride splits.
You need to be a contortionist or very flexible Rhythmic gymnast to accomplish that.
For me as an Artistic coach, the hips are square enough if the belly button points directly forward. And the position is controlled and stable.
For example, this split could be square enough, for me.
