Methot, Chartier win Canada Winter Games

… Sophiane Methot of La Prairie, Que., and Jeremy Chartier of Montreal soared to gold medals in the women’s and men’s individual trampoline competition.

Like the freestyle ski aerialists from Quebec who ruled the slopes in years past, Methot and Chartier were tops in Prince George in the first ever trampoline competition at the Canada Games. …

Nathan Shuh of Elmira, Ont., won the silver medal with 35.700 points and Mark Amstrong of Red Deer, Alta., took the bronze with 35.000.

In the women’s event, Methot battled Rachel Tam of Toronto in both the prelims and the final for top spot, ultimately winning the gold with a score of 36.700 points.

Tam was runner-up with 36.000 to take the silver medal and Kalena Soehn of Red Deer, Alta., won bronze with a score of 33.900 points. …
