Sunisa Lee of Saint Paul, Minn./Midwest Gymnastics Center, and Deanna West of Plano, Texas/WOGA, won their respective divisions at the 2014 U.S. Challenge at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The U.S. Challenge features gymnasts in the Hopes Division of elite gymnastics.
Lee won the 10-11 age division with a 52.850. Tori Tatum of Chanhassen, Minn./Twin City Twisters, placed second (52.500) while Abigail Scanlon of Sterling, Va./Capital Gymnastics National Center, finished third (52.150).
In the 12-13 age division, West received the gold medal with a 53.600. Mikayla Hotaling of Royal Palm Beach, Fla./American Twisters, earned silver (51.700), and Amoree Lockhart of Ft. Worth, Texas/Empire Gymnastics Academy, got the bronze medal (51.400).
