It’s difficult for young, short and light beginners to feel the “sequential drop” (shoulders, then chest, then hips) of the tap on (backward giant) long swing forward.
The “beat” on (forward giant) long swing backward is slightly easier.
I often wait until a beginner can do 20 OK giants on straps before even starting.
But if you DO want the tap at an early stage, here’s one progression.
