… “I need some more to reach [Kohei] Uchimura, but that’s what I’m working on,” he said.

Alvarez was not surprised by Leyva’s effort on day one. He says he always hits his routines at their Miami gym, where they do extra on pommel horse, a weakness of the U.S. team. He also wrote down his potential score on paper and showed it to Danell a while ago, but Danell thought the lofty number was crazy.
