Gymnastics Canada has announced the appointment of Ms. Kyna Fletcher as the new Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) National Team Director.
As an NCCP Level IV coach, sport administrator, BC Provincial Coach and passionate volunteer chair of the GCG WAG Program Assembly for the past 12 years, Ms. Fletcher brings a broad range of knowledge and expertise to this new position. Her professional work experience and interpersonal skills will be a great asset for the federation.
More recently, Ms. Fletcher has taken on additional responsibilities with Gymnastics Canada to include a leadership role with the WAG National Team. She has been the WAG Team Leader to the 2010 Pacific Rim Championships and 2010 World Championships and coordinating National Team program preparation activities such as training camps and sport science program support.
Ms. Fletcher has a very good understanding of the Canadian gymnastics delivery system and a leadership and communication style that brings people together. She is passionate about gymnastics and very excited to join the Gymnastics Canada staff.
As the WAG National Team Director, Ms. Fletcher will be responsible for the direction and management of the Senior, Junior and Youth National Team Programs. She will work closely with the Program Director, the coaches of National Team athletes and other technical advisers to the National Team program.
I see no mention of the appointment on Gymnastics Canada.
