Britain’s men completed 30 routines without a single major error as they set an impressive qualifying score of 357.033 points at the World Gymnastics.

Louis Smith scored highly on the pommel horse, while Dan Purvis could reach the floor and all-around finals.

“The boys did absolutely fantastically today, we couldn’t have wished for better routines,” Smith told BBC Sport. …

IG noted on Facebook that Louis Smith “refuses to fall off Pommels”. Not his best routine today, but the start score is monster.

This team is dangerous as they have excellent Pommels. And that’s without injured Daniel Keatings.

We chatted with coach Paul Hall after the meet. He was pleased in the understated British tradition.
