Hamilton Anthony’s path to success was not an easy one. In her memoir, Unfavorable Odds, she shares her story of not only overcoming the unfavorable odds of being a 5-7 African-American gymnast from a low-income, urban community, but also the challenges she faced being surrounded by drugs and violence. It also chronicles her journey to escape the cycle of hopelessness that pervaded her everyday life and reveals the keys she used to overcome the obstacles she faced, in a way that anyone can apply to his or her own life.

“It is my desire to encourage and inspire others to persevere through life’s difficulties, in order to find true purpose and lasting fulfillment,” said Hamilton Anthony.
